1. Focus on the fountains
Would you believe that the fist fountains in Kansas City were made for horses, dogs, and birds? It’s true! They were, after all, made for the practical purpose of getting a drink when needed. Kansas City is second on the list for the “city with the most fountains”, shown up only by Rome, Italy (not too shabby) and some of our fountains are over 300 years old!

Building the Budget

Have you set a budget yet? If not, drop everything your doing and take a look.

Without a budget, it’s possible that you will have unrealistic expectations about the amount of money you can spend on each area of your wedding. So, after you’ve decided on the amount of money you can spend and know the sources from which you will get it (will your parent’s be funding this shindig or will you two be paying for it yourselves?) let the fun planning begin and fill out this baby!

Marriage Licenses

The requirements in Kansas and Missouri are pretty similar, even though they are two different states. Both people applying for the license must be 18 years of age or have parental consent. Usually, blood tests are not required. Call ahead to verify that you have all the information you need with you (applicable fees, ID’s, proof of divorce, etc.). And remember: you need a license from the state you’re getting married in, not necessarily the state you live in.
